Overview for used crucibles transfer ladles

When transfer launders are not implemented, metal is transferred from melting furnaces to holding/casting furnaces using transfer crucibles. Tapping crucibles cover larger transfer crucibles used in smelters and cast houses. Some operations undertake the degassing operation in the transfer crucible during transfer. A steel shell with fork truck lifting points and a refractory liner make up transfer crucibles. Insulation, bolt-on spouts, and hydraulics are all options for transfer crucibles (lid and tilting). Aluminum transport ladles (ATL) or transport ladles are other names for transfer crucibles.
